Weekend Photo Theme is a weekly photography article where Dale or Franca choose a theme, select 5 pictures to sum that theme up & tie them together with their interests of Architecture, Art, Design & Travel.

We love spanking new and cutting edge architecture, but there is something about the old fashion one that fascinates us too. For instance we found incredibly beautiful and interesting timber-framed houses that we saw whilst travelling in some European countries like the UK, France, Switzerland and Germany for example.

What I liked the most about these stunning structures and their architecture is how they look perfectly framed and each piece seems to be in harmony with the others. These timber-framed structures, no matter if houses, castles or inns, remind me a bit of the game Tetris, even if sometimes the “pieces” aren’t completely straight and they tend to lean a little bit on one side which it makes them even more curious to me.

It’s incredible how long these houses have been up for and how well maintained some of them are. Here is a very small selection of some timber-framed houses details that I’ve particularly enjoyed, I hope you do to!
