Weekend Photo Theme is a weekly photography article where Dale or Franca choose a theme, select 5 pictures to sum that theme up & tie them together with their interests of Architecture, Art, Design & Travel.

We both love wandering around markets and since we went to Asia we probably became almost obsessed with them. In fact no matter where we are, one of the first things we check is if there is a local market we can go to, to buy some fresh local food, take some shots of people shopping and also to people watch, something that I can easily get lost doing. There is something about markets that is unique to them: the smells of the food, the colours of the fruit and veg, the loud crowdor a combination of them all – make markets very special places.

We lost count of how many markets around the world we’ve been to in the last two years, but here are five that we particularly loved, still remember, and that we don’t miss any opportunity to mention.
