Weekend Photo Theme is a weekly photography article where Dale or Franca choose a theme, select 5 pictures to sum that theme up & tie them together with their interests of Architecture, Art, Design & Travel.

It’s important for the sake of the future that we preserve and remember all that has come before us in our past so that we don’t make the same mistakes again and for that reason the concentration camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau still exist today.

During our day walking around the area where so many prisoners were restrained and unjustly murdered we were both filled with an immense sorrow that we’d never quite felt before.

There came a point that we felt that preserving the past in the form of photographs didn’t quite feel right, even though it’s the sharing of these images that help to remind us that we shouldn’t let it happen again. We chose to stop taking pictures, but that’s not to suggest that you shouldn’t. Choose what’s best for you.

Here are just a couple of images that bring everything back for us both and we hope that by sharing just these few you’ll understand just how we felt.
