Following research, we loved what we saw about Hotel Art Nouveau and asked to drop by to take some shots. They were kind enough to provide us with accommodation, however all thoughts and opinions are – as always – formed independently and without agreement to be favourable.

Left, right and centre in Berlin there are new hotels opening at an incredible rate, so much so that there have been rules proposed to limit how many new hotels are opened per year, and between the towering beige blocks of 500 room hotels, it takes an extra something to set yourself apart.

Thankfully, Hotel Art Nouveau has that something.

A Little Something Special

Now those 500 equally square and equally beige hotel rooms do have there uses for smaller trips to the city – perhaps for business – but for those who are jetting in to the city for a long period of sightseeing or just to relax on a long summer weekend, staying somewhere so sterile can sometimes have a negative effect on your mental state and make your enjoyment and future memories in one of Europe’s worse than they need be.

What you really need is something personal, something private and something engaging – and around Hotel Art Nouveau you’ll be surrounded by not just engaging people, but engaging art work too.

Rooms With A Reason

The art and feel of the hotel isn’t just restricted to the hallways at Hotel Art Nouveau of course, the now sixteen year old hope of the hotel owning married couple, Christine and Gert, of creating a space combining their passion for art and design that flows straight into each of the 22 individual rooms and suites located inside the building.

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the largest rooms that we absolutely loved to spend time in, that felt more like a home than a standardised hotel room in which we loved every detail.

Throughout all twenty-two of the rooms across two floors in this former pension you’ll see tailored rooms that bring tailored experiences to all who stay at the location, from those travelling alone, to newlywed and couples on their second honeymoon in their twilight years, also too you’ll find respectable rooms for businessmen with a taste for something different and the hotel also has accommodation for those art loving families of three, four or more.

Early To Bed, Early To Rise

When the morning finally breaks through into your room and brightens this small art gallery that you can call home, you can then move into the breakfast area to again surround yourself in comfort and the odd delightful detail to really bring the ‘Rise and Shine’ to your day.

In Summary

It seems to us that whilst away from any home of our own, the thought of returning back to the hotel after a walk amongst the trees in Tiergarten or to the museums in the centre was a magical one. Knowing that there was a little place like home in the city of such a busy city was a breath of fresh air and it’s one that we don’t find in every city we pass through.

Whether you’re alone or a family of four, if you love art, you’ll love Hotel Art Nouveau Berlin
