Who are Angloitalian, Follow Us?

Angloitalian, Follow Us! is the British-Italian couple of Dale Davies & Franca Calabretta.

What does Angloitalian mean?

Angloitalian is the nickname we gave ourselves on one of our first dates together when we wondered around our hometown taking pictures together, like this;

Typically people will hear the phrase Anglo-Saxon which means;

noun -
a member of any of the West Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons, and Jutes) that settled in Britain from the 5th century ad and were dominant until the Norman conquest

But, in our case our adaptation of Anglo-Saxon to Anglo-Italian represents the pairing between us and the distances between our respective home countries.

Who are Dale & Franca?

Dale (ANGLO) is a mid-twenties male born in the Midlands of the United Kingdom who during the summer of 2011 on a surprise birthday trip to Venice decided “this is the life for me” – read more about why Dale travels.

Franca (ITALIAN) is a early-thirties female born in the south of Italy (the heel of the boot) who has always had a dream to travel and finally left her job, her comfort zone and sold everything she owned to set off on the journey of a lifetime – read more about why Franca travels.

Why We Blog

We initially started out with the idea of sharing all of our adventures in one collated space for our friends & family back home, but the more we blog, the more friends we make who enjoy our journey and want to come along too.

What We Blog About

Both Dale & Franca love the world of creativity; whether it’s seeing great architecture around the world, visiting wonderful art galleries & exhibitions, seeing great pieces of design or listening to fantastic music. We chose to share all those experiences that people might not get a chance to see, whilst also keeping people up-to-date with our other travel adventures.
